Blood. The sight of it sickened me. You'd think I'd be used to it by now. Knowing that I see it almost every day. Unless I'm lucky. Someone will save me some day. Life is a fairy tale. It has to be. Maybe not right now. But in the end, it will make up for the lost time and I'll have a magic ending. Right?

I was waiting for my dad when my life changed. Not in any way like a fairy tale with magic wands or going through a rabbit hole like kids in the books do.
