When Virgil starts recieving strange letters from an unknown sender, at first he thinks it's a joke. But when he reads the letter, of course he freaks out. This person is probably, well, a girl. Nobody knows he's you-know-what yet, and  he's worried he might hurt someone's feelings. But, with some time and a little incouragement from his friends, he starts writing back.
