Eleven starved cats were all that remained to PineClan's name after the bearwalkers finally withdrew from the forest, leaving disease and destruction in their wake. Prey was scarce, and silver-snapping jaws littered the forest undergrowth, threatening any life that was unfortunate enough to meet them. The Clan, too weak to leave, slowly began to rebuild. Some of the she-cats even felt safe enough to try for kits.
