Fourteen year old Siren Valerie Rain has just been accepted to the prestigious Locasta M. Howes Academy for the Gifted and can't wait to start her first semester. Upon arrival, the school is everything Siren dreamed of: big, beautiful, lots of friendly people, nice, helpful teachers, an understanding headmaster and most importantly, a giant library with a huge mystery book selection! But after a mishap after class, Siren discovers that school houses a secret, a supernatural secret and learns that she has a supernatural secret as well, a scaly one. Together with her hyperactive roommate, Shula Maria Sparkes and her boyfriend, Benadias "Ben" Ryan Farrington and sarcastic loner Nyx Chloe Lưu and the help of shy computer geek Winema "Winnie" Dakotah Webster, tarot reader Adèlaïde "Addie" Barba Etienne, clumsy library assistant Kimberly "Kim" Jessica Campbell and nature lover Dolores Carmen Cardenas, Siren resolves to discover her origins.
