We owe to an eighteenth century Persian poet the marvelous concept of "serendipity." It is a word born in the delightful Persian tale entitled "The Three Princes of Serendip."

Serendipity is the effect by which one accidentally stumbles upon something fortunate, especially while looking for something entirely unrelated.
