Following a meteor crash in a destitute town in Northern California, a nine-year old girl starts exhibiting strange behavior, such as speaking Ancient Egyptian and solving advanced Math problems. Her story is told by Rick Sarpaulis, her Math teacher, in the form of ten diary entries which also chronicle Rick's battle with depression and his tempestuous relationship with a local girl named Audrey. A desert-town math whiz meets an ambidextrous artist, a Scorpio... in the wake of a best friend's death, two white envelopes that freak people out, and a diamond pearl that might be LSD. In the outskirts of Las Vegas, freshman Aurora (a.k.a. Ari) takes refuge in calculus and probability problems to escape the demons of her painful past. Math was what the prestigious prep school Staglight Academy had recruited her for-her, a girl from the wrong side of the train tracks. Plus, numbers are logical; math makes sense. This predictable world built on immutable mathematical theorems doesn't plague you with chronic insomnia, doesn't let Katrina-your best friend-die, and definitely doesn't hurl a tornado through the middle of the Mohave. But a desert cyclone is exactly how their twin escapes begin-Ari, running from the horrors that have chased her throughout time, and Xanexa, running from the horrors that have chased xyr across the universe. They run until they meet, when Ari comes face-to-face with xyr, an amazing artist whose sketches are so real they could come to life. From that initial encounter, she begins to discover the dangerous, life-threatening truths that had been buried with Katrina. Under an increasingly constricting web of manipulation and deceit that imperil Ari and those around her, those truths resurface with the ones about herself that had been buried beneath the sands of time-truths that are wholly irrational, just like art-- --and pi, a number xe shows her the end to, even though it is real, irrational, natural, and never-ending.

Hidden deep in the California valley is the Aves Department for the infamous C.R.O.S.S. Laboratories. Offered an internship this esteemed genetic research lab, biology graduate Aurora Hall felt like she was living the dream. However, she soon begins to question the commonality of all the locked doors and vague answers from the shady staff. When she finds an abandoned ID badge with access to the highly restricted Section 3, she can't help but take a look. What she finds makes her question why she was picked as an intern, and she is faced with a choice that threatens to uproot everything she knows about science, humanity, and even love. ▪️▪️▪️ I flattened my palm on the cold glass and held my breath. My heart raced as I watched him tentatively lifting his hand to reach mine. Then I saw it. A flash of white in corner of my vision. Turning my focus away from the man, I focused on the white shape behind him. Craning my neck, I tried to inspect it further but my confusion only grew when I recognized it to be a patch of white feathers. Wait...feathers? He must have noticed my gaze because his lips quirked up into a proud smile and suddenly the patch of white grew into an entire wing. No, not just one, two wings...and they were attached to his back. -Rankings- #1 in Creature 3/03/2021 ❤️ #1 in Beast 1/27/2023 ❤️ #1 in Subject 8/27/2022 ❤️ #1 in Dystopia 3/25/2020 ❤️ #1 in Laboratory 4/27/2021 ❤️ #1 in Science-Fantasy 4/21/2023 ❤️ #2 Young Adult 4/18/2023 #2 Strong-Female-Character 12/20/2021 ALL RIGHTS RESERVED [NEW COVER 4/3/2021] [COMPLETED 4/9/2022] *WATTPAD EXCLUSIVE STORY*

It is the morning before the summer solstice and Charon Juet's life is ruined. Or anyway, that's what her mother has just told her. The following day is Charon's 40th birthday and there is nothing to celebrate. Born on a momentous day in the history of Mars, Pennsylvania, Charon Juet was expected to live a charmed life. Instead, she pours coffee, flips pancakes, and fends off unwanted compliments from the patrons of the only diner in Mars. With little to lose, Charon asks a stranger to come home with her. At the doorstep, Charon is stopped by a small lie she told earlier in the day. It was the kind of lie we tell strangers all the time. Or maybe it was mostly a lie, but (also) partly the truth. Regardless, it was truly truly absolutely the worst timing ever.
