16 year old peasant, Roslyn Dyer always hears all sorts of gossip from the Nobles who come to get their clothes re-dyed.
When she hears about a secret meeting for people who want to over throw the king, her sister convinces her to disguise herself as a lady  and attend.
With reluctance she agrees, and goes. She meets a the prince of a nearby the kingdom and is given the date to come back to gain more information for the plot to overthrow the king.
The more she starts to attend the meetings, the more she gets twisted up in her thoughts and emotions. 
Roslyn decides to take her family away from the trouble before the plan goes through. 
But, was that the right decision?
They have to return sometime, so will it be even more dangerous then?
And does Roslyn really have feelings for the charming prince, or is the kind young merchant better?
Would it have been better if she hadn't attended the first meeting at all?
