"Forest Fire"
New South Wales is particularly sunny,
Green terrain lingers,
Blue skies flood the atmosphere,
However times have changed.
I can typically feel the warmth on my grey woolly fur,
Gripping on the tree trunk to sleep my nocturnal sleep,
The dryness of the air sparked the combustion of a fire,
Smog fills the air.
The intense increase in my body temperature awoke me,
A burning sensation breached upon me,
It interrupted my circadian rhythm,
usually sleeping hours on end.
The australian air plagued with smoke,
Making breathing unbearable,
Naturally instinct is to flee the scene,
However in my peripheral there is a wave of fire,
Spreading like flowing water,
There is no escape,
My paws adapted for climbing and gripping aren't strong enough for my escape.
Nature fights against civilization and wins.
More often than not wildfires are due to humans carelessness,
Our ignorance leaves huge impact,
And the collateral is the helpless.
Most of this is sad, any TW will be at the start of them
I'm a 17 y/o (Started this when I was 15) just wanting to share some of my poetry with people other than my friends :]
