Because she now has an ability that makes her a threat, a danger to humanity. Because she's a Red, that means she has fire skills. So she was taken to a camp with many survivors. That's why they want her killed. But Lilli doesn't want to die. She manages to escape and decides to fight, after all she has nothing to lose. Until she meets Cole...
This is from The Darkest Minds series by Alexandra Bracken. Which is by the way an amazing series. I do not own any of the characters except for Lilli and her storyline.
