Jessica Sommers was the black sheep of the family, some might say. No one knew much about Jessica Sommers and that was the way she liked it. Unlike her older sisters, Jessica, or Jess as she preferred to be called, moved out of Mystic Falls the second she graduated.

Jess thrived in New York City and her life looked perfect from the outside. She lived in a lavish apartment, wore the most fashionable clothes and she made too much money for her own good. This came at a price as she had to sacrifice her relationship with her family in order to achieve this. They didn't fit in with her new image and so, they were dropped.

When Jess received a call, informing her that her sister had died not even a year after her oldest sister, she knew it was time to return back to the small town that she swore she would never go back to.

Mystic Falls wasn't ready for Jessica Sommers and neither was Klaus Mikaelson.
