Since Alexandria's father, the king, had died, everything in her world has changed. Her mother and her are fighting all the time over everything and she is becoming more and more defiant. Her two sisters, Raine and Lightning, don't even bother getting involved in the fights. It's all because Alex was born one day before them (actually only 15 minutes earlier). However, since she was first, it makes her the oldest. Therefore, she will get the crown. Life was so much easier for everyone when her dad was alive. He knew how to keep the girls from fighting, how to make sure his family was always happy, how to keep his people happy and how to run his country in away where everyone looked up to him. However, that was two years ago. Two years had changed a lot of things. Including Alex. It's shown her that only people she can depend upon is her sisters. It's also shown her that she just might not be ready to become the queen. Two years has felt like 200 years of torture. She can't tell what's the right thing to do and what's best for anyone. There is one thing, however, that constantly goes through Alex's mind. Even though to her it's a distant memory, her father had taught her how too be one the best. That when rules don't seem right and are not helping the people there's only one thing to do: Be Illustriously Defiant.
