Long ago nearly 1000 years, two kingdoms Niveum and Nigrum. They were allies. Nothing separated the two kingdoms but a mere river they called it the Griseo.
Peace connected them till the bomb fell and the 500-year war took place. Endless battles destroyed endless families until Niveum took over Nigrum's lands and enslaved them behind one of the strongest barriers ever built. Griseo the beautiful flowing river that connected the 2 kingdoms was turned into the one thing that prevented them from ever communicating as the barrier was built over it diminishing it's a natural flow, trapping the nigreos behind making them lost and forgotten.

The Nigreos lived poorly in the remaining part of their country while the Niveus lived in their country luxuriously but under the rip of restless Kings.
You are probably still wondering what caused the war, well let me tell you something the Nigreos were black people while Niveus were white ones. "White rules !" was their slogan that destroyed one innocent kingdom.
For they never thought of the day when they would need their black fellows.
Now you might think that the Nigreos should be pitied but in fact, it was the total opposite for Niveum was ruled by a black-hearted cruel king.
King FlynHuckle III, but the question remains:
Will his Children be as dark as him?
Or will there be a new apocalypse?

This is a story about friendship, love, loyalty, finding your destiny, and most importantly excepting other people's differences.

Iris Theren has grown up in a small town near the Niam River her entire life. Composed of under 200 people, you'd think residents would know who she was, but her parents have made that impossible, going so far as to not even report her birth when it occurred twenty-three years ago. Cetus and Cassiopeia Theren at one point imagined themselves to be esteemed members of the court, but they overheard whispered questions regarding their loyalties to the crown. Thus, they left Remalna-city years before Iris was born. Their resentment and dislike of the Renselaeus family traveled with them. In their minds, it was the Renselaeuses who caused their fall from "grace" and "good-standing." Only a minor detail that no one truly liked them in the first place. From the moment they left Remalna-city--from the moment Vidanric Renselaeus ascended to the throne with his wife, Meliara Astiar, at his side--they quietly plotted their revenge. Alaraec Renselaeus, firstborn of Mel and Danric and crown prince of Remalna, has now seen twenty-four name days. The exact year the prince is traditionally determined to be old enough to take up some of his royal duties...including finding a potential bride. And thus Cetus and Cassie perceive the moment to strike has finally arrived. NOTE: The setting, history, a couple of the characters, and some of the concepts in this particular story are inspired by Sherwood Smith's novels Crown Duel and Court Duel. One Day More (working title) occurs twenty-five years AFTER the conclusion of Court Duel, basically an alternate future outside of Smith's Remalna's Children novellas.

In the world of Dragonfire, anything is possible. Flying, teleportation, invisibility, the ability to create a lightning storm on a whim...anything can be done. And anything can exist. Goblins, Orcs, Dragons, Dwarves, Kitsunes...there are countless races, and countless abilities. A world of fantasy in which anything is achievable. Or so it seems. After all, everything has a cost. And victory...victory is the most costing of all. Across the Black Sea, guarded by the Leviathan, there exists a large land separated into five territories. Celestia, Arvan, Ingres, Illicen, and Arumi. These five territories are named after those who control them. At least, that is how it used to be. From a distant land, the Snake Kingdom managed to bypass the Leviathan, and invade these five territories! Under the guidance of General Clauve, they crushed everyone in sight, until their only remaining opponent was Celestia. But they made a mistake, and Celestia capitalized. In a crushing defeat, the Snake Kingdom was bested after nearly 8 years of conflict. After the war ended, Albedo Aria, a soldier from Celestia, was promoted to the rank of General. But she didn't feel like a hero. Suffering from severe PTSD, this story follows her as she tries to overcome the nightmares of war, and move on from the terrible things she was forced to do. She was raised to be a soldier, and joined the war from the age of eleven. As a soldier of Celestia, she could never, and still cannot ever disobey any orders. When war calls, she must answer. Whether she is truly willing to or not. But after four years without conflict, surely things couldn't reach that state again? Or perhaps that isn't the case. After all, her dear cousin must deliver a letter to her. A letter telling her that the Snake Kingdom is on the rise in their very own land. A letter telling her that every sliver of happiness she has gained after the war ended will be lost. A letter telling her that she must return to war...
