Klaus Baudelaire and his sisters had felt all alone in the world. Until they met a mysterious girl living in the dreadful house of Count Olaf. Olaf had claimed her to be his daughter, but once the Baudelaires knew the truth, it led to more series of unfortunate events.

But, the one fortunate event that carries on in this series is the that the mysterious girl sticks with the Baudelaires until their misfortune reaches its end. But the unfortunate even that breaks this chain is the obstacles that keep Klaus Baudelaire from seeing what was right in front of him.
