Lilly and James didnt die that fateful night but their souls just went to their original bodies they did, however, leaving behind their twin daughters Rosemary and Holly Petunia isn't spiteful Vernon is the same as he was in the book. Dudley is different he is still a bully but not towards his family and the twins count as family. Vernon is not actually Petunia's husband nor is he Dudley's father He himself believes that he is due to false memories that he gained after Petunia's mates disappeared.
Tom Riddle isn't actually evil, He was ambitious, yes, He wanted to change the wizarding world yes, change the way all wizards and witches were treated and make the blood purity shit disappear as he saw how rare it was for purebloods to have magical children, ninety percent having been squibs,He wanted to bring the wizarding world to a new age Dumbledore doesn't want Tom's plans to come through and as Tom is beginning to start with his plans Dumbledore is lying in wake biding his time.  He had blocked Lily Jay Potter's other mate links as well as James's other mate links on both sides. He had partially blocked James' link to Lilly so that it would seem like she was his only love.Fate and Destiny were not happy with Albus' plans and had come up with a plan to fight back unfortunately Fates magic didn't kick in soon enough it had kicked in as Lilly had taken her last breath. 
Albus made it possible for Tom's soul to split into five and placed four of the pieces into four special Items. Albus didn't however noticed that a piece went into the twin Potter daughters for a safe haven. What was left turned into a wraith, he was left a fracture of himself.Now the girls had a prophecy on their shoulders and they don't know the truth. This is going to be set in the summer before fifth year at Hogwart's. Harry had always believed in Dumbledore and never doubted him that is until he was forced into the triwizard tournament by said man. While Dumbledore had left him all alone in the hell he was forced to participate in he thought that his friends would stick by him through all of this, but no they turned on him thinking that he had put his name in to get him even more fame than he already had. Ron was the jealous one while Hermione was the one thinking that he had broken some rules to do something that would give him yet another adventure. Harry was then left to rely on the only person that was willing to help him and that was 'Alastor Moody' aka Barty Crouch Jr. As Harry was getting the help of an actual adult that cared for him and seemed like he wanted him to survive they got closer. Barty soon told Harry everything but Harry didn't really care mainly because at least they had never lied to him or with held information form him. So while it got closer to the last task Harry was real close friends with Barty and they had already brought Voldemort back to his former glory of Tom Riddle. Tom and Barty had found out that Harry was Tom's accidental Horcrux they couldn't really fix it without killing Harry and as it was they both thought of him as their family. So when that last task arrived Harry didn't take the cup but Cedric did and he had won while Harry and Barty had 'mysteriously' disappeared. They both arrived with there things in front of Gringott's with Tom already waiting on them and this is where the story begins.

The war has finished, people can now come out of hiding, and Voldemort is finally dead. For many people this victory means never ending peace, but for three people in particular- it is their worst nightmare. Harry Potter's Aunt Petunia, Uncle Vernon and their son- Harry's cousin- Dudley. Petunia's hatred for the boy stimulated from a mixture of jealousy and pure resentment. Vernon's hatred for the boy began from the single fact that everything he has ever believed in regarding magic- was a lie. He hates everything completely out of what he deems 'normal' and in his eyes Harry is most definitely not normal because he is a wizard. Dudley however is a different story all together. His hatred for Harry simply began because his parents have always hated him- and therefore he thought it was perfectly fine. After they were all forced into hiding when the war really began, he thought a lot and concluded that he never did hate Harry. Seventeen years of misguided anger towards his cousin when really it should have been his parents for making him believe he was nothing less than an animal. Three years have passed since the war ended and Dudley has managed to buy his first house, is a successful businessman and is in the process of planning his wedding with his fiancé - who he met whilst they were in hiding in a small village. One letter changes everything though for the now twenty-one year old- a letter from Harry informing him that he wants to get back in contact. Will Dudley finally be able to show Harry he has genuinely redeemed himself and is no longer spoiled brat?
