Don't Turn Around

It had been twenty years.
Long, gruesome twenty years that broke bones and crumpled their insides like abandoned pieces of paper.
And twenty years of clean was a long time.
Too long.
They had drifted apart, finding different paths, but ultimately heading down their same original road.
With a couple of exceptions, of course.
But with the scent of a storm in the wind, they're forced to reunite under not so bizarre circumstances.
If only there wasn't someone standing in their way.
