Teasing. Rejection. Jeering. These are all things Jane Alan has had to deal with her whole life due to her so-called "abnormalities". Her parents never encouraged her to hide it. Quite the contrary. They encouraged her to find comfort in them and use them to help rather than to hurt. Then she moves to a place called Inkwell Isle, where the things that were called abnormalities where she grew up, are suddenly not only awed, but praised, and quite useful in her new line of work. And a certain someone seems all too happy to show her how to use what she was born with to the best of her ability.
