A wildfire is bearing down on the Horseshoe Ranch, and the owner is away. The only person who could have helped the horses was Sam Oaks, the crippled old foreman. He was evacuated, though, forcing the horses to be doomed to their fate.
However, one horse, a small stallion, races to get his band of mares to safety before his namesake devours them all.
