Even without the pressure from his parents, Robert Jameson (although he prefers to be known as Bobby) is beyond clever. The problem is, brains don't earn you friends. And when you're surrounded by boys who care about the things you know nothing about and girls who wouldn't be seen dead with someone so uncool, you tend to spend a lot of time either alone or being bullied. Angel Reeds is the worst behaved student in the school. Constantly getting into fights, talking back to teachers and not doing homework, she's far from being aptly named. Meet Melody Alonzo. She's fifteen years old, she's in the tenth grade, goes to Red Valley High School, and lives in Colorado with her mom, dad, annoying little brother, Carter, and her lazy big brother, Nick. She's known Michael Richards and Dylan Jackson since kindergarten, and she's hated them ever since. But in middle school when Michael and Dylan finally go to a different school, Melody couldn't be happier to get away from the two idiots she's always hated. Well except for Dylan...because he lives in her neighborhood. But at least Michael's gone! "Would you like to dance?" the boy asks me. I stare deep into his blue eyes, but I can't figure out who he is. He's tall with dark hair and the brightest blue eyes I've ever seen. I know everyone at this school, but with his features hidden behind his mask I can't tell who he is. "Sure, I would love to." Did I just say that? I agreed to dance with a random boy who I don't know. He takes my hand and leads me to the dance floor. We dance for a few songs and then he asks me, "Would you like to take a walk? I know the perfect place." I nod and he pulls me behind him off the dance floor. We leave the hotel and start walking down a little path. At the end of the path I notice a little fountain surrounded by candles. I wonder if he set this up. We walk over to the fountain and we sit down on the edge. "I had a wonderful time tonight," says the guy. He reaches to his face and removes his mask. I recognize him immediately. How did I not know it before? *** Carter Bennett has managed to survive her first 3 years of high school. Everything has been amazing... for the most part. She had her life completely planned out. And everything was on track. Until she met one boy. William Aston, one the school's most popular residents. Being the school's football captain, incredibly handsome and an all around nice guy.
