Three thousand years ago Meliodas met and fell in love with a human woman named Ryoko Kuromiya and the two were in a loving relationship until Ryoko had fallen gravely ill and died. Desperate Meliodas seeks the aid of the Demons Clan's worst enemy, the Supreme Deity. As consequence to his actions, Meliodas was punished severely and Ryoko loses her memory and love for him as a result. 

In present time, Ryoko becomes the Eighth Sin. The Nightingale Sin of Despair and now one of Meliodas's closest friends, however as time goes on she starts regaining her memories and one of them includes both of Meliodas and Zeldris. Why was her friend and enemy in her memories?

"Meliodas?" Ryoko asks as she confronts the Dragon Sin.

Meliodas looks up "What is it Ryo?" He asks casually.

"What happened 3,000 years ago ?, Why do
I keep seeing you in my memories?" She asks anxiously, Meliodas was silent and he goes over to her grabbing her hands glancing at her with love in his eyes, baffling her.

"Meliodas?" She says nervously.

"Everything I did Ryoko was for you" he confesses, Ryoko's eyes widen and lips were pressed against hers.

The book has come into possession of 17 year old Elias Liones, great descendant of Elizabeth Liones and King Arthur, and he has discovered that the world is in need of the Seven Deadly Sins once more. Elias summons Meliodas from hell and the two go and seek the reincarnations of the other sins. Along the way, feelings develop, questions are asked, secrets are revealed and old friends are found.
