People who can be on top stay on top and they use their gifts to get them there. But some people aren't strong. Some people are weak. Some people are naive or are less than smart. And some, well some are all 4. These people are at the mercy of the world and rarely, if ever, get even a chance to climb to the top. And that is simply how the world works.
Now, if enough people band together, they can overthrow those who have the monopoly on power. This happened in the final disc war. But what if it hadn't?
Dream had the teens cornered but in this world, no reinforcements arrived. So dream won. And that is simply how the world works.

I'm not putting tw in the actual chapters themselves because A) I will definitely forget one at some point and B) it's a huge spoiler to do so. But these themes are throughout the story. You have been warned.
