The Calm and The Storm

I love that feeling. The feeling of the breeze washing over you on a warm, sunny day. The surreal feeling that engulfs you when the only sound is the wind dancing with the flowers and trees. When your only worry in the world is how long until the sun vanishes and you are shook awake by the horrors of your everyday worries. I always heard that when you meant THE one everything is more colorful and food is more flavorful. People say that you should basically be a butterfly sanctuary when you are around that special person. But when I'm with him the sky is still blue, and my gum is the same plain ol' mint taste it was when I started chewing it. The food that I ate prior to his arrival doesn't suddenly feel like making a grand entrance. But my cheeks fight a goofy smile, my eyes search the room for him every two seconds, and my shoulders feel a little lighter, because he is that feeling for me. He is my peace. He is beautiful and serene to me.

Then there is my hell on earth. He is that feeling when you can't tell if it's the rain or tears anymore. When it hurts to breathe. When you want to just give up, because it would be easier. He is everything that I should try to distance myself from, but I'm drawn to him. I can't quite put my finger on it, but something about him keeps me up at night.
