It's been several months since Dracula was killed by his own son, Alucard. Several months since Alyx Belmont last saw her brother, Trevor, after he parted ways with her to embark on new adventures with the Speaker magician, Sypha Belnades. And several months since Alyx first agreed to live with Alucard in the castle that was his childhood home, right above her old childhood home, the Belmont estate.
