Charlotte Nightingale is just your typical student-- sometimes absentminded, falls asleep in class but totally responsible. Spelling 'average' would otherwise mean spelling her name. At the start of freshman year in a new school she isn't a bit acquainted with, she easily gets lost and accidentally comes across a random guy who helped her find where is which. Their short encounter ends swiftly, and at the rollcall, she realizes that the guy just happens to be in the same class as her, and her seatmate at that! Perky, alive and in one way sweet, Michael Mitchell ends up being her instant friend, alongside his best bud Robert Simmons. But it wasn't the end of it, since Miss Average here finds herself developing not-so-average feelings for him over time; and like a waterfall, her heart falls head over heels in love. Will she let her feelings be left unknown, or be like a waterfall that flows freely to where it's meant to be?
