The anchors on the news preached of safe havens in the south, disc jockeys promised survivors guards with guns and food, but there is nothing now but radio silence and empty streets.
What Seamus wants is North-a dead man's promise of a lonely land with open fields, a chance to start afresh, to build, to survive, to live.
