Luka Novak's life story stems from severe trauma since childhood, but he has grown in the years since. He has battled conditioning from MK Ultra, battled his own father, his own mind, and sexuality to become the man and commanding officer he is today. Born in 1958, he lived a normal life until he was 5, when he was given to the MK Ultra programs by his father. His own father, the doctor who conditioned and fractured him to be an asset for the Secret Space Program. He was handed off to multiple programs to train and expand on his knowledge and skills. Where he was given the moniker: Reaper. His only friend, Billy Reed occasionally was with him in several programs, but Luka's father attempted to keep them separated. He wanted them to grow as brothers, but not the lovers they were becoming. After many failed attempts to keep Luka under control, ranging from: ECT treatments, age regression, and even SRA, Luka was finally released to Sector 24. A faction that ran the reaper program. A program designed specifically around him for his abilities. Although his father saw him as a malfunctioning weapon in his program, he excelled in all others. He grew into his role at Sector 24, with colleagues he learned to call friends, even family, and a lover. He eventually became the Commanding officer. -TRIGGER WARNING- Abuse: Mental, Physical, Sexual Strong Language Gore, Blood, War, and Battles Torture, Animal Cruelty This book dives into an extremely cruel world of MK Ultra tactics, which can involve torture and drugs to fracture the human psyche to create alters in the person. The best to describe is Disassociate Identity Disorder. I have done a lot of research into the topic as well as putting some of my own experiences into my writings.

"Three weeks. That's how long I got to have drama-free. I'm not sure what is happening to me or to Oakwood. Nothing's the same since I rolled into town and it just keeps getting weirder. Suspicious agents in suits roam the streets without an explanation. They're staring straight at me. The new Chemistry teacher is NOT who he says he is. I'm doing things I never thought I could. Like, mutant-level things... Lauren, Luc's dead twin sister, hid something from everyone. Something important that may have lead to her demise and that could lead to ours. Hunters are in town. I never knew four words could contain so much dread and terror. I'd rather deal with the Wanderers. I'm on the brink of a breakdown. I need help..." BOOK #2 IN THE SERIES! Ignorance is not bliss... In the wake of ridding Oakwood of Wanderers, other dangers come creeping in and they're somehow linked to Luc's absent twin. The past returns to haunt the mutants in inconspicuous ways. Riley's life is yet again in jeopardy, but this time she's not alone. Luc and his family are all thrown into the teetering balance. More secrets are uncovered. A trap dawns on them all. Invisible threats start crawling from all directions. Who is the real enemy? TW : behaviours of depression and PTSD are displayed. I don't name them, but one of the character will be struggling a lot. It may not be suitable for everybody. Other adult matters are briefly included, but nothing explicit or intense. Rewriting specifications : the main points of the story and end of the book will remain the same, am just going to change a few ways of getting there and adding some extra spice. Feel free to pause the read until the REWRITING sign disappears.

❖2021 Watty Awards Shortlist❖ Kevin was just a normal 10 year old kid until he saw a woman vanish right before his eyes. This made Kevin just a little bit different. He paid more attention to people now. Little did he know that this little difference would kill him the next time he encountered another alien about to return home. It would tear him apart, cell by cell, until he was unmade. His mind being transported away. --- So distantly far away there is a race that advanced to the point where they built dyson spheres to house their civilizations. In their continual expansion, they seeded galaxies with pods and connection satellites. Over time they upgraded their dyson spheres into matryoshka brain Cores. Imagine a computer powered by a star. Citizens of Cores no longer age once they upload their minds into the virtual living system of the Core. While they didn't age, most still choose to cycle through life and death though at a different scale of time compared to our lives. Citizens can visit other planets and live there as if they were on a "vacation". Mercury is Earth's hub connected to the closest Core and Earth is a remote vacation spot for wealthy citizens. When the main character was 10 he witnessed a citizen returning to the Core. The story continues 10 odd years later when he again witnesses a similar situation unfolding and manages to touch the person returning to the Core. This causes him to be swept up in the transfer as well and for his mind to join as a "Guest" user of the Core. As a Guest he has limited powers, a starting balance of zero cr or Citizen credits, and no idea how he can get home. He is the first human to ever become a Guest of a Core. Where money itself is the highest form of their science.
