Clarice McGowan and Jacob Lanford have known each other since childhood and have been best friends ever since. And ever since then Claire has kept her best friend in the dark about how she really feels. Because can't deny that Jake is the boy who makes her laugh and makes her heart beat faster with one look. And although she only to concentrate on her goal of getting into her dream univsity: Yale. That's why she has vowed to keep her hands off him, because she knows how much is at stake for her. Until she happens to discover a whole other side of him. Jake is hiding something heartbreaking from everyone, that no other person is allowed to know. And all of a sudden, both of their lives are threatened with chaos and Claire is faced with the decision of whether she wants to save Jake or whether she's going to tear herself apart.
