The 80s.

A decade of neon colors, rock music, Madonna, crazy hairdos, Alf, the end of M.A.S.H, great cinematic films, cars, food, television, the boom of the economy, and sex.
With Ronald Reagan taking the presidency, the economy of the state flourished, making it the most material decade of all. Like Madonna once said, "I'm a material girl living in a material world."

The U.S. finally won their first hockey championship, but the nation was also in a dark spot: the Cold War. America was in fear of the communist invasion since 1949 when the Cold War began, and the growing paranoia lead the country to desperation for something to save and protect them from a potential threat.

In 1967, Dr. Octavius Roland, the founder of the project X, proposed a solution: to create the perfect soldier.

The government funded the program as it provided the solution which would save the country. Money was all Dr. Roland needed, and with that, he started experimenting. He cracked the code in creating human life and called it transgenics. His experiments were known as the X-series. They were to be designed as physically and mentally perfect "soldiers," which could be utilized for a wide variety of special operation assignments and missions.

In the year 1969, the two types of transgenics were created: X2 and X5. The X2 series was an unsuccessful series, with the vast majority of them suffering from irreversible genetic anomalies that lead to physical disfigurement and psychological problems that made them unfit for even the most basic training.
The X5 Series were the first truly successful prototypes of the X-Series. Each X5 was made to have their own unique abilities as their genetic codes were made to mutate on their own. The X2 grew at a rapid and abnormal rate, while the X5 they grew at a normal human growth rate.
