Cassandra now has the power of the moonstone... but so does Varian? In an unexpected turn of events, Cassandra and Varian end up each wielding a half of the moonstone. But the moonstone was never meant to be wielded by two. Only one is destined to wield the moonstone's power, and the power will slowly destroy the unworthy one. The question is, which one of them will fall?
This fanfiction is set beginning in the last episode of season two of Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure. Warning- spoilers may be ahead if you haven't seen all the episodes. All rights to these characters belong to Disney, except for ones I may make up.

Only two weeks after been thrown to prison, Varian's dreams are haunted by memories of his past, as well as a cold, female voice which also happens to terrify Rapunzel, who is still following the rocks with a newfound sense of uneasiness. Underbelly
Following his trial, Varian is sentenced to servitude in Ingvarr to pay for damages to Corona. Lieutenant Cassandra is supposed to escort him there, but Rapunzel wants her best friend on her journey. To compromise, the Princess suggests taking Varian with them. ------------------- Updates will typically release on Sundays at 8AM EDT. The cover art is made by yours truly, and was inspired by an album cover from my favorite music artist, Kiltro! Go check out their music- which also inspired the name of this story, haha. My personal favorite song in Underbelly (the album) is Errasuriz. Also! I write everything in google docs, which is where I format everything for AO3 (this work is cross-posted to AO3). So if you spot any letters encased in angled brackets, I apologize, it's how I italicize words, strike them out, and format for AO3. I will do my best to edit them out for you. (Note: All rights go to Disney. While this story involves new dialogue, setting, and storyline, some elements remain the same.
