Ellie Thompson describes herself as a nomad. Not purposely of course. She moves around much more than the average Joe. Now in the eleventh grade she begins a new school. No surprise there. Normal routine is to lay low and no friends. That is until she meets him. James Hill. She makes her first connection with him and will she be able to keep it. Each time she receives the notepad from James she falls harder.
James has a lot of secrets as well. Although he is very popular nobody really knows him. He takes an interest in Ellie and starts the notepad with her to know the things she thinks about. He knows that she can read him deeper than others can. Each time he gives the notepad to her he feels like he gives a tiny piece of his heart away with it.
Can they survive their circumstances together or will life rip them apart?
