It all began with a storm.
Nothing out of the ordinary. Storms were natural. Falling trees were natural. The mist, however? There was nothing natural about that mist.
Shinso Hitoshi lived a relatively quiet life, living with his father and kid sister in a small, rural town, right by the lake. As most artists were, he was conflicted about his path in life, but when that tree crashed through his studio window, he honestly thought it was a sign.
(L/N) (F/N). Girl next door to boot. Shinso's middle school crush, and way out of his league. So imagine his surprise when he discovers she's related to his less-than-friendly next door neighbour.
Needing supplies himself, Shinso agreed to drive the pair into town to the market, but how was he to know everything would turn upside down? Who in the world would expect something so unnatural, so disturbing, to occur?
It all began with a storm...
...and it all ended with the mist...

"Why did you pick me up?" I asked again, Shinso pulled the car over somewhere I didn't recognize. We were in the middle of no where, nothing but fields around for as far as the eye could see. "Are you going to kill me and dump my body in a ditch?" I asked, exaggerating my tone in faux fear. Part IV: Shinsou Shinsou Hitoshi doesn't remember his birth parents. Apparently, they gave him up when he was a newborn. He likes to imagine they were good people, good people who couldn't take care of a child and gave him away in the hope that it would give him the best chance at life. They couldn't know how badly it would go for him. That's what he liked to think. Shinsou Hitoshi had a very strange friend (well, ok, most of his friends were very strange, but Silver was Weird). But when they're asked to do projects on their families and he's partnered with her, it seems like a cool idea to ask her if she can find anything about his birth parents. It doesn't end how he thought it would. *** Warnings: Lots of references to child abuse. Disassociation. Canon-typical violence. Nightmares.
