Fear is all Luna Gray has known, ever since her parents abandoned her in the dark forest at age eight. Every weather change makes her jump, every noise makes her scream, and every animal that crosses her path makes her kill. All hope is gone, replaced by torment and loss. I felt my eyes lose their yellow colour, and go back to my usual colour, hazel. It wasn't easy, being taken away from your family at a young age, and being changed. Into a monster. I didn't know exactly what I was, but I even scared myself when he took me to the woods to hunt, like he just had. I wish he would just let me die. But he wouldn't. Every day, he told me that I was his most precious valuable, and he couldn't let me go. But that doesn't stop my small fantasy of him letting me die. Nothing ever would. He is at least somewhat aware of us, the reader, and acknowledges us often, that's why he takes explains things with oddly, making a comment or two about how he should've known you wouldn't know that thing.
