The Beta Reading Club holds monthly contests consisting of a singular prompt decided upon by The Writers. The prompt can vary from using a character trait, scene, setting, etc. It can be very vague or very restricting. You can also find the contests on Instagram, @the_beta_reading_club
Our goal in these contest is for writers to have FUN and to also help them to hone their crafts. Winners of the contests will have their work published and credited on our "Contest Winners" book.

Short Stories
This book is comprised of all of the short stories that I've written in recent years. A good number of the stories in here were written for contests throughout Wattpad and most was inspired by Challenge Corner's 'Changing Seasons' contest. Within these virtual pages, you'll find my attempts at science fiction and fantasy, as well as a good deal of comedy. SmackDown: Back to Our Roots
Our previous two SmackDowns were both massive successes, and it's high time for another. You might remember the last one was heavy on the "game" elements, maybe even too heavy. This time we're going back to the basics and keeping it simple. It's just a motherfuckin' sci-fi SmackDown: a heated writing contest where contestants are given text-, music- and visual-based prompts, and then they need to write a short story around that, following which they're judged for their efforts and either move on to the next round or they get eliminated from the competition. But there's gotta be some kind of twist, right? For this one we're waxing nostalgic, we're looking back into our past. We're going back to our roots.Complete

Minor irritations, but they may or may not trigger her blizzard-inducing rage from time to time, resulting in out-of-season snowstorms, snowbound towns, and confused meteorologists worldwide. Good thing she has a fairy godmother. Or is it? When a forbidden paranormal romance brings secret magic and an unspoken curse to light, the weight of the world lands on Lily's shoulders. The Fabulous Spec-Fic Smackdown
I've decided to jump into the latest smackdown hosted by LayethTheSmackDown and Ooorah. This is where I'll be posting my entries. It's been fun and challenging doing these in the past and it's good motivation to churn out some stories. I haven't managed to win one yet, but in a way that's beside the point. Hopefully I can last a few rounds, but if not, that's okay, too. Good luck to all who decide to participate!
