Feliz lives with her Dad and Stepmom in Athens Georgia. Her best friends are Dora, a Spanish girl that gets made fun of a lot, and Q, the only non-binary asexual person in their whole school.
One day, Feliz gets a call from her mom, saying that her Great Uncle Jeremy has passed away. Jeremy was different from his family, because he was married to a man named Jona.
Feliz's aunt, Maggie, takes her to go help Jona clean his house, and Feliz takes a few boxes out of Jona's attics, that contain his and Jeremy's diary. threw reading these dairy, Feliz feels closer to her Uncles.
As if all of this isn't enough, there is a new kid named Sky at her school. Sky is a huge hippie, and everyone wants to be her friends. But soon, Feliz starts to have feeling for her friend, and this throw off her whole world as she tries to figure out who she is, who she wants to be, and her family's past.
