He is an ordinary fellow with nothing significant about him, and this is what attracts the attention of an 'evil' wizard. This wizard is tired of power and has developed a system of trials that anyone can go through to gain it.  Bob would never have agreed to join these trials if it wasn't for his long lost villain of a twin who was joining, who Bob assumed, only would use the power for equal dastardly acts. To join the trials, Bob attracts many peculiar individuals that are not very heroic seeming at all.
