Killer

"I won't tell anyone, I swear."

His breathing is fast and shallow. I look at the wound in his stomach. It would kill him in an hour, but they would be here sooner.

"Yes, you will, because you won't have a choice." I state the fact simply, looking at him. "They will take one look at your stomach and know something besides a lab accident happened."

I hate the way he looks at me. I am a cold monster in his eyes, merciless and deadly. The fact that I deserve to feel his gaze sickens me and makes my stomach lurch.

I reach out, and with a flick of my wrist, break his neck. I wince at the sharp crack through the room, and walk out the door onto the stairs. They are probably already on their way, and I want to be long gone by the time they get here.

I never take chances.
