In the year 2150 the thought of living on Mars it's not just a dream, it's reality for over 700,000 people. Since the first mission to Mars in 2030 humans found that it was easier to colonize and terraform than previously thought. In groups of four astronauts worked on building bases accompanied by robots support, they worked on creating clean water, and they also worked on pumping as much oxygen and greenhouse gases into the atmosphere as they could. The first permanent habitants of Mars left Earth in 2050, they are the first true martians and there will be many more to come. this is only made possible by the major advances in technology that have unfolded over the past 100 years.

Every 10 years the students at Barren View high School get to sign up for a one way trip to the next planet over. Harper crew is one of those students, will she be able to go or will she miss her one in a lifetime opportunity to travel and to live on Mars.

Students who are 18 and older are eligible as long as they have no physical disabilities. They must be mentally sound and must be able to handle long distance travel. and must accept they may never see their family again. On a world ravaged by war, hunger and disease, Mars will truly be a paradise.
