The once nobleman Kain refused to sacrifice himself to save the world and instead damned it by standing as the last of the vampire race.
    
    To defy the Fates he raised an army to wage war on Nosgoth and carve out his empire. Only a fallen order of Holy Knights whose leaders he had slain stood in his way. Compared to an army of newborn vampires, it should have been an easy victory
    
    ...but he was sorely defeated.
    
    200 years later he awoke to find himself alone and his enemy now ruling the world alongside those he had once called allies.
