Aspen Reyes has never believed in magic. Growing up, she was taught that everything had an explanation that could be figured out with logic. Even when the inexplicable happened, like the death of her father, she rationalized it.

But after being enrolled into the mysterious Magnolia Academy, a boarding school ran by her uncle, something changed. Too many unexplainable things happened, too many weird events that didn't line up.

Magnolia Academy is home to young Magicae, a race of humans with magic flowing through their blood. Under the light of the blue moon Aspen and friends change, and with this their lives change forever. And with the unexplainable murder of Jack Hughes, everyone at Magnolia Academy, even the school itself, is put into danger.

Aspen takes it upon herself to find this heinous murderer, no matter what it takes, to protect her family legacy and to prevent the closing of Magnolia Academy forever.
