Hybrids are the rarest breed of any species. Only few of them are said to exist. No one knows how they came about. Some say that Hybrids are descended from ancient forest spirits. Some say that Hybrids were created by the old gods to give a voice to nature. Others say that Hybrids were created to keep the balance between man and nature and to punish those that upset it. Many more don't even think that Hybrids exist at all, that they're just fairy tales told by old tribes and passed down through the centuries. But high up in a mountain pass, a hidden facility houses scores of Hybrids and runs daily tests on them, trying to figure out how they came to be. Five teen girls, Tora, a tiger Hybrid, Chita, a cheetah Hybrid, Kitsune, a red fox Hybrid, Mariposa, a monarch butterfly Hybrid and Okami, a timber wolf Hybrid, long to escape the facility and see the world. One day, they stumble across a startling secret about the facility and escape. Now they must find a secret organization of Hybrids deep in a secret forest to save their families and stop the facility once and for all.

The man stops only an arm's length away from me. I stare up at him with wide eyes, my lips parted in fear. I stand frozen, unable to move. I shut my eyes, turning my head away. Laboured breathing, the touch of fingertips on my bare shoulder, breath on my lips. A heavy, deep inhale. Slow exhale.
