The Bible says, "Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God." As Christians, we all know how important it is to feed our spiritual lives every single day. But let's be honest- it's really so hard to focus on reading the Word of God most especially now that we're basically living in a digital world and everything seems to be stealing our our time and attention. So how do we connect with God in such a kind of "environment"? Here in A Millennial's Daily Devotional, I will share with you my personal journals/devotionals every day and I hope and pray that the Lord will use this to speak to all of you and help you in your every day walk not just as a Christian, but specifically as a Christian Millennial. Paint Us Gray: Part 1
Rejection. Betrayal. Heartbreak. Grief. Unfortunately, we've all had a swallow, some more than others, of this bitter brew. This is just a sliver of my chapter that is a part of this world's grand narrative; it's about one person's toe dipping into the brokenness of the Earth, and the ripples, waves, tsunamis it created in her life. A couple of months ago, while consoling a friend grieving the loss of a relationship, he asked me a question no one had ever asked me before. A very vulnerable and powerful question. I had been sharing some of my own similar experiences with him when he messaged me that life changing question, "And, what did you see at the top of the mountain?" While his words were just letters on a screen, I could see the hunger in his eyes, hear the desperation in his voice, sense the overwhelming thirst of a person climbing up an incredibly steep and treacherous mountain. Blind Instincts
*COMPLETED* My head bowed in a heavy mannor, not in respect, but in trepidation. I discern his unwavering gaze over my ill silhouette. "Look at me." I opened my eyes, though it made no difference. Black is still black, all I am left with are my four senses. He will kill me if I don't look. He will kill me if I do. He growls a low, throaty snarl to warn me about disobeying an alpha. There will be consequences, we both know that. His lingering growls let me know he is not going to allow me to contravene his word. I steadily inch my head upwards, visibly shaking everywhere else. Maybe he won't notice my depthless eyes from across the gazebo. My life depends on it. How To Live, Forever Part 2
Once you read this book and the bible, just study it everyday and make it a piece of your soul and your everyday life. God says, to become great in his eyes and in the Kingdom of Heaven, you have to do and teach the Gospel. God's Second Greatest Commandment is love thy neighbor as thyself. So just say if you didn't know about God wouldn't you want your neighbor to tell you about God so that you could be saved? That's what God means by his Commandment. Show everybody that God is here and alive and will never fade away. Never be afraid to show people about God (Luke 9:26 "For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father's, and of the holy angels."). Also, don't be afraid that they may harm pyou about telling people about God (Deuteronomy 31:6 "Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee."). I would like for everyone to read this that is in this world, so we can all come together through Christ. So that we can live with God forever!
