All of the earth's once green lands were nothing but ash and charcoal. The air was dense with the smell of burnt flesh and smoke gathered in a haze that faded the blood-red sun in half. The cities stood like bones, barren wastelands, empty now that disease consumed whatever the fire didn't. Even the seas stood still like semi-stagnant pools of death and decay, as the wind had left the planet, there were no waves there. The skies were empty, no birds flew or sang, and the oppressive heat was pounding like hell's breath all the time.
