Tim doesn't do teary goodbyes. They just don't appeal to him. That's why when he decides he doesn't want to be alive anymore, he doesn't call anyone. Doesn't text anyone with a long explanation as to why. Doesn't run out of a family dinner with tears in his eyes, his family calling, chasing, after him. No. For Tim, a simple note is enough. The legal pad with neatly scrawled sentences that lays on his desk is proof enough.
Tim also doesn't do dramatic or messy goodbyes. That's also why when he no longer wishes to live, he doesn't put a gun to his temple in his bedroom. That's why he doesn't trash the bathroom for any pills he can find, swallowing them down dry. That's why he doesn't slit his wrists or hang himself when he so easily could have. That's why Tim finds himself walking Gotham's streets late one Friday night, knowing fully well of the dangers yet going forth with his mission nonetheless.
Tim's decided that he doesn't want to live anymore and is fully prepared to jump off Gotham's main bridge into the murky waters below, when a voice calls out to him. For a brief moment, Tim wonders if he should regret his decision. Until, that is, he remembers who he is. What he is.
His name is Timothy Drake-Wayne, and he is the forgotten replacement that the Wayne family never needed.
