Though we tend to think exciting English history starts after the Tudor Dynasty, the truth couldn't be further than that. The 100 years prior to the Tudors are known as the War Of The Roses, a chronicle of fights, battles, intrigue and deception, all in the name of power and the strive of the Lancasters and the Yorks to sit on the throne of England. #9 in #waroftheroses: 26/03/2020

On August 22, 1485, the War of the Roses will be ended. Three kings will die in the bloody civil war along with about 100,000 combatants. The victor, Henry Tudor, will be just 28 years old when he finally takes the broken crown from the mud of Bosworth field. He was not even born when the war began. His opponent will be King Richard of England, who was a mere two years old when his father Richard of York, unwittingly condemned him to a bloody cycle of violence. A war neither man was complicit in starting, but both of whom were prepared to fight to the death for. A war that would last 31 years, 5 months, and 1 fateful day. Trigger/Content Warning: major blood violence through out, somewhat graphic sexuality, some crude humor. Deaths of major characters. Extreme grief/trauma. Suicide is discussed.
