Riley Peterson is a 16-year-old sophomore at Bayfall City High School. She has known her best friend Kyle since they were in diapers so they have a really special bond between them. After learning about an explosion at the multi-million dollar corporation Vine Industries that were working on a drug that in testing gave rats superpowers their friendship takes them on a heartbreaking mystery to see what caused the explosion and what this mystery drug will do on humans. With the help of some unlikely friends and many losses throughout this journey, the mystery may be seen to be not as black and white as Riley thinks. Violence begets more violence in today's society and a thirst for power lurks in the streets of Bayfall.
