Everything dies in the apocalypse. Eventually anyway. So is falling in love even worth it?

I got luckier than most. I found my old family and even created a new one. Every person with different backgrounds could trust each other and become family and yet... and yet no matter how much time I spend with them, I don't feel as though I belong. 

They'll all die anyway. Eventually. We will all... be... gone....

"Chloe." I jolt, breaking out of my trance. "Yea, sorry, what's up?" I ask Daryl, my mouth morphing into a smile. "Are you okay?" He asks me, searching my eyes. I nod my head. "Yeah, sorry. I'm fine" I shrug sheepishly.

He nods slowly. "Well, you can always talk to me. I'll always be here. Because you're worth it. Always." He pulls me into his arms and I hug him gingerly. Worth it... right. I swallow hard, trying not to feel guilty about the fact that I don't want to be here, that I can't be here anymore.

I'd been so worried about how she is mentally doing since the death of Lori. She hadn't processed much after the little nugget was birthed. She jumped into action immediately after, coming with me to get formula, and didn't stop until we got back to our mattress. She didn't sleep much, and I followed her out as she let out what she had been holding all day. I also have been holding back something for the past couple of weeks. And I want to be able to tell her, but with everything going on, I'm not sure when it's the appropriate time. Hell, the words have never been formed in my mouth. Not even with my brother. So she decided to leash up her dog, a Belgian Malinois named Bud, gather some supplies, and head towards Atlanta. She encounters a small group along the way. Survivors just like her, with stories and losses of their own. She soon becomes close to them, feeling like she has found another family, and she will do anything to protect them. This is a story of lost, love, survival, and surprises. The world doesn't care that you are alone, doesn't care if you're hungry, and doesn't care that death lurks around every corner. The undead feed on the living and the living can't be trusted. As the days pass and the world she knew was gone, she keeps a record of everything that has happened since first night.
