Another Stupid Spell by billricardi
20 parts Complete
Another Stupid Spell is a first person high fantasy novel, the likes of which hasn't been seen in 60 years. The tone and vocabulary of the story shifts as our narrator, Sorch the orc, finds ways to enhance his intelligence. You get to grow as Sorch grows, learn as he learns, and share his most intimate thoughts. Sorch is an orc mage in a world where orcs are cursed with stupidity every time they cast a spell. The only spell he can safely cast is Enhance Intelligence, which boosts his IQ for a fraction of a second before the curse drains it all away again. Normally casting such a spell would be pointless, but Sorch's tribe has found a way to benefit. Magic that is cast near a mysterious artefact called the 'Voodoo Engine' causes invisible hands to appear, and these hands get work done for his tribe. Sorch is a slave to the Voodoo Engine, casting a single spell over and over again to avoid being beaten by the chief's warrior caste. While foraging for food on one fateful night, our hero happens upon two human mages who are in big trouble. He saves their lives, and in return they give him an amulet that will make his life easier. Unbeknownst to the humans, their gift grants Sorch the power to break the cycle of intelligence drain and physical abuse. With the help of his friend and mentor, Shaman, Sorch becomes a real mage. Sorch leaves his swamp and embarks on a series of incredibly exciting and dangerous adventures. During his travels he encounters horrible injury, magical treasures, love, snow, university admissions tests, a plot against the Kingdom, and then of course he saves the world. Or does he? Be prepared to rethink everything you know about thinking. If your own intelligence was the fuel that your magic ran on, how brightly would you dare to burn?

Most would assume all magic blends together, but those deemed dangerous will always be dragged out of the shadows. In this world necromancers are those bunch who will always be pulled from the crowd. One bad person causing hundreds of years of discrimination and genocide. Even with those odds some still try to help and change the years of hate towards them. Many die trying, but two sisters think they'll succeed. One a healer who has treated many plagues and famines, even traveling into areas populated by the very people who have massacred her kind. No matter the warnings she faces from her traveling companion, she never changes her course in the name of helping those in need. All she wants is to be in a world without hate towards her and other necromancers. But will her kindness and sacrifice be repaid in the simplest form? On the other hand, her sister travels looking for answers on why things are the way they are. Surely an entire world of vastly different magics and people can't be entirely changed by one person? It makes no sense for one person to determine the life of many generations to come despite all the good they've done to change their fate. She wants to find answers but isn't so daring to go into countries of people who would publicly execute her, unlike her sister. She doesn't have that kind of courage or will. But what will the sisters discover? Will they be able to change what has been done or get burned in the process... Cover made by me with the help of Pinterest references

9 parts Ongoing

In a world once divided by ancient magic, each species lived in secluded realms. Mermaids ruled the deep oceans, elves thrived in enchanted forests, orcs built their strength in rugged caves, and dragons soared over the sky's peaks, divided between ice and fire. Goblins living in the swamps of the marshlands. Shapeshifters wandered in shadows, and the sky people dwelled in sky realms, distant from earthly matters. For centuries, these territories remained separate, each guarding its own secrets. But this balance shattered when war erupted, spreading darkness and destruction across the land. Homes were destroyed, families lost, and the world itself bore deep scars. Only after devastation did the realms realize that their isolation had been their downfall. From the ashes, a fragile peace emerged, with old enemies becoming allies. In the aftermath, a new generation arose-9 teenagers born amidst hope for unity. Tasked with an unprecedented mission, they must traverse an ancient labyrinth that holds the keys to their world's history and potential salvation. Brought together by fate, young members of various races-mermaids, orcs, dragons, elves, and others-struggle to bridge the gaps between their differing ways of life. This is a tale of ancient magic, clashing realms, and tentative alliances, where the fate of the world rests in the hands of those who carry both the legacy of war and the hope of a new beginning.
