Domick slid into the seat next to me and looked over. "Did you see how he was looking at you?" What? "H-he's not even my friend, just a partner sometimes." I managed to stammer out. "Trust me, he wanted to be more than just a partner." Domick sneered the last word. A surprised laugh escaped me, and I leaned towards him to whisper, "What makes you think that." "Because I notice when someone wants what's mine." ----------------------------- After I blew out my candles on my 7th birthday, I started to see things no one else could. Wings. I know, crazy right? After my Dads mysterious disappearance, I had to move in with my aunt who ignored my very existence. Then I met a certain someone. Domick. From the moment I saw his wings I knew he was different, just like me. Turns out I'm not the only "abnormal" around here. Domick was sent to find me for a reason, but can he stand to give me up to the secretive Council? Between Domick's possessiveness and me not knowing what the heck is going on. It's going to be one crazy ride.

Your breath belongs to me. The heat in your body is the heat I keep. When you wake, you will wake in my shadow. When you sleep, you will sleep in my arms. You will not walk beyond my reach. You will not be lost to me again. If you are taken, I will tear the sky apart. If you run, I will hunt you across the bones of the universe. You are mine. In this life. In the next. In all lives after." I touched her face again, slowly, possessively, the way a predator touches what it has claimed - not gently, but with the certainty it will never be taken away. "I am the cage," I murmured against her skin. "And you are the part of me that lives inside it."
