Ryze Black, a man of many hardships, becomes the only man who can kill creatures who are one with the dark, known as Shadows. While in the land of the mortal people, the mystical creatures and beings are oppressed by the mortals. Neptis, the queen in the land of the mystical creatures, Vella, asks Ryze to become her bodyguard and he accepts.  While Ryze's emotions are stuck more then once from his past and revealed secrets, he falls in love with Queen Neptis' daughter. Will they have their happy ever after, or will they be struck will more tragedy?
