On a second hand shelf in the local bookstore, Ella finds a paperback novel. She buys it, takes it home, and starts reading it by her window.
On page 17, she gets a text from her friend. After she replies, she's shocked to turn around and find a message on the page: If you are reading this, I am probably dead.
Ella isn't sure if it's a prank, but as the book reveals its secrets, she knows that someone out there is in grave danger. But who? And, more importantly, how can a 17 year old girl save them, when no one believes she's telling the truth?

Rules to Feeling Lonely
Alone. A simple word that has always held many meanings to Ella, and starting her senior year at a new high school, solitude had seemed the easiest way to go. A week passed, bland and unnoticed, before her plans quickly get thrown overboard. Losing one of her most priced possessions, she finds herself making a rather simple deal with someone from school. His name, for her book. There's only one little problem; she has no idea who this person is. Laughs and tears, friends and heartbreak, and the past that comes knocking on the door.
