A short but sweet story for a writing contest on PlanetMinecraft.
Standing sentry at the outskirts of the village, the weathered stone of the Portal's glassy obsidian had forever exuded warmth that belied their so very Southern location, nestled among the towering conifers of an otherwise undisturbed, sprawling forest. But, just as Spring begged to arrive, the stone remained cold.
She's never been a fan of the harebrained hyperbole of the townsfolk, but as the bravest - or perhaps the stupidest - prepare to enter the Portal for answers, she finds herself following them into the abyss as the only person that knows what the Hell is going on.
